Corporate Social Responsibility Policy


PURPOSE
At Lynceus Management Consulting we understand that our work impacts the environment, community around us and our staff. We have a responsibility beyond profitability to ensure we minimise the negative impact of our work on the environment and people and maximise the benefits we can bring to them.

PRINCIPLES
We see the achievement of being a socially responsible company through the following principles:
  • Do no harm to the environment in which we operate including the ecology and the communities we interact with;
  • Uphold equality, inclusivity and protect vulnerable groups within our internal teams and communities around us;
  • Create value and delivery sustainable outcomes as part of the work we do for our public sector partners for better societies today and tomorrow.

ENVIRONMENT
Our responsibilities towards the environment are:
  • Minimise use of paper by not printing when it is possible and use printing facilities rationally and sparingly when we must for compliance purposes;
  • Minimise the use of electricity by turning off laptops, printers and other gadgets, and lights by turning appliances off when not in use;
  • Ensure rational and mindful procurement, utilise assets and resources by recycling where possible, procure goods that have a longer useful life and services that are provided by suppliers who adhere to ethical and sustainable practices through the implementation of the Procurement Policy;
  • Ensure compliance to environmental laws and regulations of the jurisdictions we operate in.
PEOPLE
Our responsibilities towards our staff are:
  • Promote well-being and a balanced lifestyle with adequate planning of workload, time off and supportthrough budgeting and project management;
  • Protect staff from impacts of abusive, unethical, unprofessional behaviour internally and from third parties and step-in when necessary to address such behaviour, and take action to discipline the offender;
  • Reward staff fairly for their efforts and inputs into the company’s operations and growth through fair remuneration;
  • Encourage aspiration, personal development, continuous learning and support staff with resources where possible, carry out appraisals and monitor CPD compliance;
  • Facilitate and encourage staff to participate in community and charity activities by facilitating a work-life balance;
  • Build and uphold an environment of open communication, trust and honesty and ensure that policies and code of conduct are followed by leading by example and having an open door policy to senior management;
  • Respect and protect traditions, beliefs and views of our staff and our stakeholders by creating an inclusive workplace where opinions are shared and diversity is embraced;
  • Protect our staff personal data and maintain confidentiality through the Data Protection Policy and use of technology and practices that support this objective;
  • Create a safe and comfortable environment by providing working conditions that suit staff their needs;
  • Give teams the power to be innovative, creative and foster leadership through decentralized project management and flexible working arrangements.
Our responsibilities towards communities around us are:
  • Create employment and internship opportunities for the people in our immediate communities when their skills and competencies align to the company’s strategy;
  • Be aware and take measures to mitigate negative impact our company has on the communities around us through awareness, engagement and partnership building;
  • Aim to protect vulnerable groups such as women and people with determination within our communities by assessing the impact of our business operations on these groups and minimizing or eliminating the negative externalities that may arise;
  • Encourage staff and our stakeholders to participate in community activities on a voluntary basis and lead by example.
Gender equality
As an organization, we adhere to principles of gender equality in the workplace, in recruitment practices, remuneration and through our work. We believe in the following principles:
  • Universality of rights and entitlements;
  • Indivisibility and non-selectiveness of the rights and entitlements;
  • Participation and inclusion in receiving information and decision-making;
  • Non-discrimination.
To uphold these principles, we:
  • Provide equal rates of remuneration regardless of gender which is based only on the level of competence and extent of project involvement;
  • Hire consultants without bias of gender based on education, qualification and skills required by the company;
  • We take a gender perspective in our business operations such as making considerations for leave, working environment, resources, project planning and management requirements of both genders;
  • We support our partners in the public sector who implement the gender perspective into public finances through participation in gender-related projects and bringing gender specialists on the project team.
PARTNERS
Our responsibilities towards our partners are:
  • Provide efficient, effective and value-for-money services through planning, project management and high level of expertise;
  • Maintain the highest levels of professionalism and due care in our service delivery through staff training, CPD requirement adherence and compliance with Code of Conduct and Anti-Corruption policies;
  • Build long-term and trusting relationships with our partners including clients, suppliers, sub-contractors, external consultants that a mutually beneficial and lead to sustainable and value-adding cooperation;
  • Ensure that the partners we work with also maintain high levels of ethical, professional and sustainability standards and take measures to prevent fraud, corruption and discrimination of any form.
